Truck flips, one transported after Aberdeen intersection collision

Shortly before 3:15 p.m. on Sunday, a Nissan Frontier and an Acura MDX collided at the busy intersection of U.S. 1 and Highway 15-501 in front of the CVS in Aberdeen. The crash left one driver transported by EMS and resulted in delays in northbound afternoon traffic on U.S. 1.

The impact of the crash caused the Nissan to flip, trapping the driver inside until the Aberdeen Fire Department arrived on scene. At that point, the windshield was removed, and the driver was transported by EMS for higher-level medical care. The driver’s condition is currently unknown.

According to the Aberdeen Police Department, the three occupants of the Acura were able to remain on scene and were not transported for medical care.

Following the crash, one northbound lane of U.S. 1 was shut down causing delays in afternoon traffic while first responders removed the vehicles from the roadway and conducted an investigation of the scene. The cause of the crash was not released at this time.
