A portion of N.C. Highway 211 in Eagles Springs was shut down Sunday afternoon after a T-bone collision injured two people, including a female who was airlifted to a trauma center. The two-vehicle collision happened in the area in front of the Circle B Mart and the Eagle Springs Fire Department.
According to authorities on scene, a Cadillac SUV traveling east ran off the shoulder of the road and overcorrected. This caused the female driver to lose control and spin around into the path of a Toyota Highlander traveling west. The male driver of the Toyota was unable to stop and struck the Cadillac on the passenger side.
The impact sent the Cadillac down an embankment and left both vehicles heavily damaged.
The driver of the Cadillac, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was airlifted to a trauma center from a landing zone that was established near the scene behind the Eagle Springs Fire Department. Her condition is unknown at this time.
The driver of the Toyota was also the only occupant of the Toyota and was transported via EMS to Moore Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol was on scene investigating the crash.
N.C. Highway 211 was shut down for about an hour at Eagle Branch Road while crews worked the scene and cleared the roadway.
Responding units included the Eagle Springs Fire Department, Seven Lakes Fire Department, West End Fire Department, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff’s Office, and N.C. Highway Patrol.
