Two arrested after Dollar General traffic stop

Two arrests were made on July 24th when detectives with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office were conducting saturation patrol in the Vass area of Moore County. According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, detectives observed a vehicle occupied by two individuals reportedly driving erratically in the parking lot of Dollar General located at 3350 U.S. Highway 1.

“Detectives stopped the vehicle and an investigation commenced. During the investigation, detectives conducted a search of the vehicle and located fentanyl, heroin, suboxone, and items of drug paraphernalia,” stated the press release.

Alexis Garner, 33 years of age, of Carthage, was arrested on charges of possession of heroin, maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place to keep a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Garner was committed to the Moore County Detention Center under a $12,500.00 secured bond with a court date of August 15.

Cecilia Holder, 31 years of age, also of Carthage, was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, felony possession of schedule II-controlled substance-(fentanyl), maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place to keep a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Holder was committed to the Moore County Detention Center on a 48-Hour Hold (HB813) with a court date of August 21.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
