Village seeks volunteers for the Neighborhood Advisory Committee

For the 26th consecutive year, the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Village of Pinehurst the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR).

The CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. The Government Finance Officers Association is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals throughout North America.

“The Village of Pinehurst is fortunate to have excellent financial staff, led by Director Brooke Hunter, who prepare the Village’s CAFR to meet the GFOA’s standards each and every year,” said Assistant Village Manager Natalie Dean Hawkins. “Receiving the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the 26th consecutive year is a significant accomplishment for our Financial Services team.”
