West End man arrested after deputies find guns, drugs

A 57-year-old man from West End was arrested and is facing weapon and drug charges.

According to a news advisory from Moore County Sheriff’s Department, Michael Davis was arrested on charges of simple possession of Schedule IV controlled substance, simple possession of Schedule VI controlled substance, misdemeanor maintaining a vehicle/dwelling place for controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and three counts of possession of firearm by felon. Davis was also served with a probation violation.

“On June 21, 2023, Deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office assisted Moore County Probation/Parole with the search of a residence in the 3700 block of NC Highway 73 in West End,” said the news release. “As a result of the search, deputies seized marijuana, alprazolam, items of drug paraphernalia, items of marijuana paraphernalia, and (5) firearms.”

Davis’ bond was set at $85,000. He is due in court on June 28 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
