In October 2024, Felder voluntarily deployed as part of a five-person team of firefighters from the Southern Pines, Aberdeen, and Pinehurst Fire departments, said the Village.
The team was assigned to the Old Fort Fire Department, located east of Asheville. Throughout the weeklong deployment, the team worked 15-hour days, conducting various operations, including road clearing, tree removal, support of distribution centers, and response to emergency medical and fire calls.
“Logan’s initiative to volunteer for this assignment and his actions throughout the deployment are to be commended,” said the Village.
