The Village of Pinehurst welcomed two new members to the Village Council during a ceremonial swearing-in held on December 9.
Kevin Fitzpatrick and Jeramy Hooper officially took their oaths of office and will begin serving the Pinehurst community immediately.
Following the swearing-in, the Village Council also voted to appoint officers for the coming term.

The Treasurer position is honorary in nature and does not include authority over municipal financial operations, which are managed by professional staff.
Kevin Fitzpatrick
Kevin Fitzpatrick and his wife, Ann, retired to Pinehurst in 2020 and quickly became active in Village life. He currently serves as President of the Pinehurst No. 6 Community Association and is involved in numerous local initiatives.
Fitzpatrick’s professional career includes national leadership roles in healthcare, most notably as the founding Chief Executive Officer of CancerLinQ™, a nationwide learning system designed to improve cancer care. He also served as Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer of the American College of Cardiology, where he helped expand major national programs focused on cardiovascular and diabetes care. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles with Lippincott Williams & Wilkins and Duke University Medical Center.
A graduate of the Duke University Physician Assistant Program and the Yale New Haven/Norwalk Hospital Surgical Residency, Fitzpatrick also previously served as Managing Director of the Duke/Hewlett Packard Center for Outcomes Research and Director of the Trauma Research Laboratory. He received the Smithsonian Institution/Computerworld Healthcare Computing Innovation Award in 1996.
Since moving to Pinehurst, Fitzpatrick has served on the Village of Pinehurst Neighborhood Advisory Committee and the Pinehurst Development Ordinance Focus Group, is a member of the Pinehurst Rotary Club, and has served as Course Captain for U.S. Kids Golf at No. 6. In 2025, he was honored as Pinehurst’s Volunteer of the Year.
Jeramy Hooper
Jeramy Hooper has lived in Pinehurst for nearly two decades after moving to the area in 2003 from Muskogee, Oklahoma. He holds a degree from the University of Central Oklahoma and a master’s degree from Western Carolina University.
With more than 24 years of experience in construction distribution and services, Hooper currently serves as a Regional Market Specialist with HomeSphere, a technology-based company connecting national building product manufacturers with homebuilders throughout the Carolinas and Virginia. His professional background provides practical insight into residential growth and development.
Prior to his election to Village Council, Hooper served as Chair of the Pinehurst Planning and Zoning Board, as a member of the Board of Adjustment, and on the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee. He also represented Pinehurst on the Moore County Land Use Plan Committee, contributing to countywide long-range planning efforts.
Hooper and his wife, Kerry Black Hooper, are raising their young daughter in Pinehurst. He remains committed to preserving the Village’s character while supporting “thoughtful, community-driven growth.”
