Suspect at large after armed robbery at gas station

Whispering Pines Police Department is urging residents to lock their vehicles after several break-ins occurred in the early morning hours on Friday.

The vehicle break-ins and larcenies occurred on unlocked cars on numerous streets, according to the police.

“Remember to keep your vehicles locked and your garage doors closed! Best practice is to not leave any valuables in your vehicles, but if you must do so, keep your vehicle doors locked,” said the police department on its website. “Check your exterior lights and cameras to insure they are working properly.”

Please call the police department at 910-949-9961 or 911 if you see suspicious activity during the night.

Please call the department if you have suspicious video footage from midnight through 4 a.m. on Oct. 9.
