Southern Pines Police arrested a 30-year-old woman after she fled from officers.
On September 1, Christina Smith, of Southern Pines, fled in a vehicle from members of the Southern Pines Police Department while these members were attempting to arrest her for outstanding criminal arrest, said Southern Pines Police Department in a news release. After fleeing in a motor vehicle, Smith then fled on foot from officers until her arrest.
Smith was charged with assault on a government official, resist, delay and obstruct a public officer, felony flee to elude arrest, careless and reckless driving, and driving while license revoked.
After arrest, the suspect appeared before a Moore County magistrate where she was remanded to the Moore County Detention Center under a $2,500 secured bond pending a hearing in Moore County court.
She is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
