Charlotte Morris hopes to foster connection and a sense of belonging to the area. Similar to her recent work at Nova Vita Coffee in Aberdeen, she wants to curate spaces that feel approachable and authentic rather than stuffy.
Charlotte Morris, the founder and principal designer at Morris House Design, started her company in August of 2025. Equipped with a bachelor’s degree in interior design and a minor in marketing, Charlotte always wanted to own her own business, so it felt like a natural next step after college.
Her services include new-build and renovation construction documents, plans and elevation drawings, and 3D renderings. A conversation about what you want your space to look like leads to her helping you pick out and order everything from wallpaper and lighting to furniture, rugs, fixtures, and more. Part of her service also includes making sure it gets installed for you.
It begins with a consultation intro call – you tell her what you’re looking to do in your space, and Charlotte will advise you on what she offers and what she thinks you would benefit from. Once the contract is signed, you will review everything together: your selections, plans, and renderings, until you are 100 percent happy with them.
Charlotte described her design style as “traditional and timeless, with lots of color” and says she’s not afraid to work with any style, as she has worked with clients with varying styles. She also works with different budgets and wants the public to know you don’t need a huge house or a bottomless budget to work with an interior designer. She has had clients send her specific furniture or pieces, which she 3D-renders into their space so they can decide whether they truly like it.
As a designer, the first thing Charlotte notices when she walks into someone’s house is the character – how many things from your life do you have in your home, is it lived in?
“We don’t want our houses to look like a showroom; we want it to look like home,” said Charlotte. “Is this a house that someone loves and is proud to raise their family in rather than having to look perfect all the time?”
Charlotte’s tip for one small change that can make a big difference in a room is paint. She says you can do a lot by “color drenching” the whole room in a color you love; it can be done for not much money and can have a big impact. Good lighting is a strong second.
