The N.C. Department of Transportation will host a public meeting next week for a proposed project to widen U.S. 15-501 from the traffic circle in Pinehurst to N.C. 73 in Moore County.
The meeting will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Sept. 29 at Christ Community Church, 220 Campground Road in West End. Project information will be shared at the meeting, allowing for one-on-one discussions with project staff, but there will be no formal presentation. The public may drop in at any time.
The project will widen U.S. 15-501 to a four-lane, median-divided roadway from the traffic circle in Pinehurst to N.C. 73 to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, and enhance connectivity and mobility along the corridor. NCDOT is currently evaluating two widening alternatives to minimize project impacts on adjacent properties.
