Another come from behind win earns the Patriots the Sandhills 4A Conference Tournament trophy.

Pinecrest went into the last round of the Sandhills 4A Conference Tournament Friday night against Jack Britt High School already having split the season series with the Buccaneers of Fayetteville with each team winning a game on the other’s home field. As in many games this year, the Patriots scored in the late innings and came away with the trophy as Sandhills 4A Conference Champions with a 7-5 win.

Junior, Elliott Embler

Trailing by 5-4 in the bottom of the 5th inning, Junior, Elliot Embler, was hit by a pitch and eventually scored the tying run. Two more runs by Seniors, Peyton Grant and Dax Ingram would score in the inning, and the Patriots held on for the win celebrating their victory with a huge team celebration on the field.

With their win, Pinecrest has earned a 1st round bye for the state-wide baseball tournament and the right to play a home game against the winner of West Forsyth and Olympic, tentatively scheduled for this Friday night at John Williams Stadium.
