A truck that caught on fire also damaged a home Sunday afternoon in Pinebluff. The Dodge Ram truck was parked in the driveway of the home on Perkins Lane when neighbors noticed the truck was on fire.
The homeowner was inside the home unaware of the fire. The neighbors quickly called 911 and got the homeowner and his dog out of the house.
When the first fire units arrived on the scene, the truck was engulfed in flames, and smoke was in the home. The flames and heat were also damaging the home as the vinyl siding melted away from the house.
The firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, but the truck was a total loss. The home suffered damaged to the exterior, and smoke had to be evacuated from the home using fans.
The truck had just been purchased the week prior and was just sitting in the driveway at the time of the fire.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire. Responding to the scene were Pinebluff Fire & Rescue, Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, and Pinebluff Police.
