At Sandhills Collision Repair, the customer experience is just as finely tuned as the cars. Owners Matthew Michaski and Greg Johnson, both industry veterans, returned to Moore County after years of working elsewhere to bring top-tier repairs and customer service back to their own community.
Sandhills Collision Repair is a new name on a familiar building, having bought out the former Sandhills Collision Center in West End.
Now, according to Matthew, it’s the team that truly drives the business forward.
“Our teammates at Sandhills Collision Repair are made up of the most sophisticated and professional technicians in the tri-county area,” Matthew said. “We are a family and locally owned, so we provide a service that is hard to mimic compared to the larger corporation body shops.”
Customers tend to notice. Matthew explained that the shop’s quality of workmanship, speed of repairs, and customer service are common points of praise among clients.
Sandhills Collision handles everything from minor fender-benders to major collision repairs, and the shop also offers full-service mechanical work including oil changes, tune-ups, tire sales and alignments, diagnostics, and even North Carolina state inspections, all under one roof.
“We’re truly a one-stop shop,” Matthew told Sandhills Sentinel. “Our attention to detail is second to none. The culture we’ve built here is one where anyone can walk in and feel the good vibes.”
According to Matthew, whether it’s a deer hit, an oil change or engine diagnostics, Sandhills Collision has it covered, and the work is competitively priced.
Matthew recounted a recent job that involved a “beautiful” white BMW M series that had been damaged and undrivable for months due to a wreck. The owner was hesitant to proceed due to high insurance deductibles, but the Sandhills team stepped in, arranged towing, and completed repairs within a week.
“When the vehicle owner came to pick it up, the smile on their face said it all,” recalled Matthew. “The appreciation they had for us taking care of their sleek M340i was over the top, and that is the reason we dedicate ourselves to wanting to serve our community.”
Matthew also offered advice for consumers: don’t let insurers steer your decision.
“Your insurance company may steer you to one of their select shops, but that is for them to cut corners and save them money on the repair,” he explained. “In the state of North Carolina, it is illegal for an insurance company to not allow you to have the vehicle repaired at the shop of your choice.”
Moving forward, the new owners intend to keep the family-feel and low rates for the community. While “doing things right the first time,” Sandhills Collision Repair hopes to provide an alternative to corporate, chain body shops.
