Aberdeen Fire and Rescue received a report of a collision just after 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 26. The accident occurred when a Jeep Cherokee traveling on Saunders Boulevard struck a Buick Enclave exiting the Kensington Village neighborhood in Aberdeen.
The Aberdeen Police Department, Aberdeen Fire and Rescue, and Moore County EMS responded to the scene. Traffic on Saunders Boulevard was closed in both directions while first responders cleared the scene, moved the vehicles, and cleaned up debris for over half an hour.
Between the two vehicles, three people were involved in the collision. The driver of the Buick Enclave had a female passenger with him, while the driver of the Jeep Cherokee was traveling by herself.
Though both vehicles sustained significant damage, all injuries resulting from the wreck were non-life-threatening. The driver of the Buick was taken to Moore Regional Hospital by Moore County EMS for treatment, according to the Aberdeen Police Department. The female passenger of the Buick was not badly injured. The driver of the Jeep remained at the scene of the crash to speak with first responders.
