Domestic disturbance leads to multiple charges in Aberdeen

A Willard man was arrested early Sunday after Aberdeen officers responded to a reported domestic assault at a home near Woodgreen Drive and Bradford Drive.

Officers arrived shortly after midnight on November 23 and reportedly heard a loud disturbance coming from inside the residence. Police identified an adult woman and Kaquan King-Brice, 31, inside the home.

“Upon arrival, officers heard a loud commotion coming from within the home,” reports the Aberdeen Police Department. “They identified an adult female and King-Brice inside the residence. Upon further investigation, officers located obvious signs of a physical struggle and were able to review video surveillance. They spoke with all involved parties and were able to confirm that King-Brice was the aggressor.”

Officers also determined the woman’s door had been damaged and that King-Brice had allegedly entered the residence unlawfully.

During the investigation, King-Brice reportedly gave officers consent to look inside his backpack, where suspected marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia were found in plain view, according to police.

Warrants were issued charging King-Brice with felony breaking and entering to terrorize or injure, misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, misdemeanor assault on a female, injury to personal property, simple possession of marijuana, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

He was taken into custody and appeared before a Moore County magistrate, who ordered he be held without bond.

All suspects and persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
