Traffic around the courthouse in Carthage was slowed down on this rainy Saturday afternoon after a car crashed through the fence and into the construction site of the new courthouse.
The single-vehicle accident happened around noon. The male driver of the Cadillac told law enforcement that he had suffered a medical issue that caused him to crash. He left the accident briefly to get his medicine and returned to the scene to speak with officers. He appeared uninjured.
The gates to the construction site were torn down, and the car received minor front-end damage.
Carthage Fire Department and Carthage Police Department responded.
