Car flips in Carthage

Two people suffered minor injuries after the vehicle they were traveling in overturned in Carthage. 

The crash happened on Needmore Road shortly after 3:30 p.m.

According to Carthage Police, the driver of a Nissan Murano was traveling above the posted speed limit around a curve, almost hitting another car head-on.

The driver overcorrected, lost control of the vehicle, and fishtailed off the right shoulder of the road. The Nissan hit a mailbox, a speed limit sign, and an embankment before rolling onto its roof.

The two occupants inside the vehicle were taken to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.

Carthage Police say the driver is facing multiple charges. 

Responding to the crash were Carthage Fire and Rescue, Carthage Police Department, and Moore County EMS.
