A motorist may have experienced a medical issue before crashing into a retaining wall in Vass on Monday afternoon, according to Cypress Pointe Fire and Rescue.
Cypress Pointe said a witness observed a car run off the side of the road, disappear into the woods, and hit a retaining wall.
“Upon arrival, CPFR units determined that the vehicle had run through the stop sign on Vass-Carthage Road, crossed U.S. 1 Business, and entered a wooded area behind the Citgo store across from Vass-Carthage Road,” said Cypress Pointe Fire and Rescue on its Facebook page.
Fire and EMS personnel assisted the driver in safely exiting the car.
“It was later determined that the driver may have experienced a medical issue prior to the crash,” said Cypress Pointe. “She was transported to the hospital for further evaluation and treatment.”
The Vass Police Department investigated the wreck.
