An accident in Carthage sent two people to the hospital Monday afternoon.
The accident occurred around 5 p.m. on U.S. Highway 15-501North and Mason Road, 3 miles outside of Carthage.
A trailer hauling construction materials overturned spilling the debris on Mason Road.Â
According to Carthage Fire Chief Brian Tyner, the drivers from both vehicles were sent to Moore Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.Â
The drivers were the only occupants in the vehicles.Â
Highway 15-501 traffic was slowed down but with no delays. Mason Road was closed until the vehicles and debris were removed.Â
The accident is being investigated by the State Highway Patrol.Â
This is the second accident in seven weeks at this location Sandhills Sentinel has reported. A Jeep rolled over in a single-vehicle accident on Sept. 3.
Responding to the scene were Carthage Fire and Rescue, Moore County EMS, and State Highway Patrol.
