Central Carolina Hospital has earned a three-year reaccreditation from The Joint Commission.
Central Carolina Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine has also earned a three-year reaccreditation.
The hospital and wound care center were surveyed by The Joint Commission on Aug. 13-16. The reaccreditations for both facilities extend to Aug. 17, 2027.
For more than 70 years, The Joint Commission has been the gold standard for patient safety and care. The Joint Commission accredits more than 22,000 U.S. healthcare organizations and programs. Its mission is to enable and empower healthcare organizations around the world to build a foundation for quality care and patient safety.
As an accredited hospital, CCH earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a healthcare organization’s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care.

During the site visit, Joint Commission reviewers evaluated compliance with standards spanning several areas, including emergency management, environment of care, infection prevention and control, leadership, medication management, and rights and responsibilities of the individual. The surveyors also conducted onsite observations and interviews.
The Joint Commission’s standards are developed in consultation with healthcare experts and providers, measurement experts and patients. They are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus to help healthcare organizations measure, assess and improve performance.
