O’Neal varsity and middle school boys basketball teams had a surprise visit from none other than one of the most winningest college basketball coaches in history, claiming 903 victories — Roy Williams, former UNC coach.
Williams spoke to the teams, emphasizing that his story should not be so much about the number of wins but the work he put forth to achieve that success.
Coupled with supporting stories, Williams gave the following advice: First, if you plan to play a sport in college, academic achievement is imperative. Second, no matter the sport you play, do your very best at every single practice.
