Firefighters responded to a house fire in Cameron on Sunday morning.
Crains Creek Fire Department announced on its Facebook page the older manufactured home on Marks Road was fully engulfed in flames shortly before 4 a.m.
“Once the fire was extinguished, it was found that the occupant had put ashes outside from the wood heater earlier, and that caught the ground and a large pine tree on fire,” said Crains Creek Fire Department. “That is what caught the home on fire.”
According to the report from the fire department, the resident stated that she had received a minor burn but refused any treatment.
“Please be safe when discarding ashes or burning,” said Crains Creek Fire Department.
