Crews respond to Southern Pines wreck

Authorities responded to a wreck in Southern Pines on South May Street and East Massachusetts Avenue on Tuesday morning.

Motorists had to reroute as officials closed part of South May Street around 10:30 a.m.

A Jeep flipped on its roof; a car sustained front-end damage, with the bumper ripped off.

The street was littered with debris and shattered glass.

According to radio traffic, one person was injured.

Southern Pines Fire and Rescue said on its Facebook page that a portion of the road was closed for an hour while they took care of the patient, removed cars, and cleaned up the debris. The cause of the wreck is unclear.
