Detectives recover fentanyl, meth, & marijuana during traffic stop

Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields reported Wednesday that detectives recovered narcotics during a traffic stop in Cameron.

“On July 30, 2024 Moore County Sheriff’s detectives conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of McNeill Street in Cameron, North Carolina after learning that the driver had a revoked license,” said Fields in a press release. “The stop resulted in a search of the vehicle where detectives discovered and seized fentanyl, methamphetamine, marijuana, and items of drug paraphernalia.”

Thirty-year-old Cameron resident Brian Douglas Jr. was arrested on charges of felony possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle for controlled substance, simple possession of schedule VI controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving with a revoked license.

Douglas’ secured bond was set at $15,000. He is due in court on Aug. 22 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
