A driver was arrested Wednesday night after crashing his vehicle into a cow pasture. The incident occurred around 8 p.m. at the intersection of Callicutt Road and Dover Church Road near Seagrove.
According to North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the driver of a white minivan failed to heed the stop sign at the intersection. The vehicle then went off the road to the right of the stop sign, hit the ditch, crossed the road, went through a fence, and finally stopped more than one hundred feet off the road in the nearby cow pasture.
Authorities on the scene stated that the driver appeared to be under the influence and open containers were reportedly found inside the van. He was administered a field sobriety test and taken into custody.
No injuries were reported, and the driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
The Westmoore Fire Department, Moore County Sheriff’s Office, and North Carolina Highway Patrol responded to the crash.
