An Eagle Springs man is reportedly facing multiple felony charges following an undercover investigation into child exploitation, according to the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.
The arrest was announced following an undercover investigation conducted by the Moore County Sheriff’s Office in coordination with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation’s (NCSBI) Computer Crimes Unit.
According to the press release, on Friday, May 16, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office Forensic Services Division, members of the Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team, and Special Agents from the NCSBI Computer Crimes Unit executed a search warrant in the 500 block of Candor Road, Eagle Springs. The investigation was initiated based on information received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
As a result, Sheriff Fields reports that Timothy Hair Jr., age 25, of Eagle Springs, was arrested and is facing ten counts of Felony Second-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and ten counts of Felony Third-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.
Hair was committed to the Moore County Detention Center under a $500,000 secured bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for May 21 in Moore County District Court.
According to Sheriff Fields, “the Moore County Sheriff’s Office is an active member of the North Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children (NCICAC) Task Force and remains committed to protecting children from online exploitation and abuse.”
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
