In October 2021, the Village of Pinehurst Fire Chief Carlton Cole successfully completed the Leading for Results program at the UNC School of Government.
Chief Cole was one of 24 selected to attend the program as a Local Government Federal Credit Union (LGFCU) Fellow. The LGFCU Fellow is a highly competitive process with 120 candidates from across North Carolina. Candidates have been identified as critical leaders in local government.
“Chief Cole continues to elevate the professionalism that is expected in the Village of Pinehurst,” said Village Manager Jeff Sanborn. “Cultivating his leadership styles and learning new organizational strategies will strengthen the Fire Department and the services we provide our residents.”
The Leading for Results program focuses on personal and organizational leadership. Participants were introduced to models of leadership as well as management and leadership tools and strategies. LGFCU Fellows had the opportunity to gain insight into their individual leadership styles and strengths and practice ways to increase their effectiveness within their organizations.
