Four facing drug charges

Four people are facing drug charges, according to a statement by Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields.

Amber Almas, Lauren Collins, Ulises Lopez, and Michael Lawhon Jr, were arrested following a drug investigation.

Deputies issued a search warrant in the 1400 block of N. Sandhills Boulevard in Aberdeen on Sept. 15.

Almas, 26, of Carthage, was placed at the Moore County Detention Center under a $5,000 bond. She was charged with possession of methamphetamine, simple possession of schedule III controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Also, Almas had an outstanding warrant for arrest for first-degree trespassing.

Collins, 35, of Southern Pines, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of schedule I controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $2,500.

Lopez, 46, of Cameron, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia and given a $2,500 bond.

Lawhon Jr, 42, of Lilesville, N. C., was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was $2,500.

Suspects are scheduled to appear in Moore County district court on Oct. 14.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
