Four injured in head-on collision

Four people were injured in a head-on collision Friday when a vehicle hydroplaned during heavy rain, according to N.C. State Highway Trooper J.E. McDonald.

McDonald was called to the scene in Vass just after 12:30 p.m. and investigated the accident.

A  Dodge truck was turning left onto U.S. Highway 1 Business when a Toyota Four-Runner heading South on U.S. Highway 1 Bypass hydroplaned and hit the truck head-on.

The injured were taken to Moore Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff’s Department, and N.C. Highway Patrol responded to the scene.
