Labor Day weekend is around the corner, which means travelers will be hitting the road to visit friends and family. To help customers save time and money on road trips, starting Wednesday August 30, NC Quick Pass will start offering free NC Quick Pass transponders and 60 percent off NC Quick Pass E-ZPass compatible transponders ($7.40 + tax).
“We are excited to offer for the first time free NC Quick Pass transponders,” says Turnpike Authority Executive Director Beau Memory. “This will be a game-changer for our customers, as they can now save 35 percent on their tolls with a free transponder.”
Customers needing a transponder before Labor Day weekend should visit the customer service center at 200 Sorrell Grove Church Road. Online, mail and phone orders will be mailed in a few business days.
The NC Quick Pass transponder provides drivers with up to 35 percent off tolls when traveling locally on the Triangle Expressway. It can also be used on facilities in Florida and Georgia. The NC Quick Pass transponder has previously cost customers $5.00.
The NC Quick Pass E-ZPass can also be used on toll highways and bridges along the East Coast where the E-ZPass, Sun Pass and Peach Pass are accepted. The transponder works at over 50 participating toll facilities, located in the following 18 states: North Carolina; Delaware; Florida; Georgia; Illinois; Indiana; Kentucky; Maine; Maryland; Massachusetts; New Hampshire; New Jersey; New York; Ohio; Pennsylvania; Rhode Island; Virginia; and West Virginia. The NC Quick Pass E-ZPass originally cost customers $20.00.
Once you set up your NC Quick Pass account and place the transponder on the inside of your windshield, you are ready to go.
You can get more information on how to sign up for a transponder and maintain your account on the NC Quick Pass website by calling the customer service center at 1-877-7MY-PASS (1-877-769-7277), or by visiting the service center at 200 Sorrell Grove Church Road, Suite A, in Morrisville (off Airport Boulevard, Exit 284, south of I-40).
