The Aberdeen Police Department recently announced the arrest of Aaliyah Hagins, 19 years of age, of Pinebluff. On Jan. 29, Aberdeen Officers responded to Harbor Freight in reference to a report of multiple alleged larcenies from an employee that had previously occurred.
Upon arrival, officers were advised that an employee, identified as Hagins, had reportedly initiated fraudulent transactions over 100 times between Dec. 29, 2024 and January 25, 2025, while on the clock.
Officers investigated the allegations by reviewing video surveillance, comparing receipts, and obtaining statements. According to the press release, officers were able to confirm that Hagins had reportedly “created countless false returns, resulting in over $2,000 worth of monetary loss to the business.”
Hagins was then placed under arrest and facing a charge of felony embezzlement.
Hagins was taken before a Moore County Magistrate, where she was given a written promise to appear in district court.
All suspects and persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
