The Moore County Health Department released a COVID-19 death correction.
The health department originally reported on June 3 the 11th death from COVID-19 was a 62-year-old male who died June 2.
“The man’s death occurred in Moore County (at Moore Regional), however, their home address is listed in Hoke County, making it a Hoke County COVID-19 case,” said Moore County Health Department Public Information Officer Matt Garner.
Currently, the Moore County dashboard reflects 15 deaths and will be adjusted to display the current number of deaths in Moore County to 14.
COVID-19 deaths include people who have had a positive laboratory test for COVID-19, who died without fully recovering from COVID-19 and who had no alternative cause of death identified, according to the health department.
Deaths are reported by hospitals and clinicians directly to the local and state health departments.
