Changing Destinies Ministry recently shared that the 2025 Matching Gift Campaign achieved its $57,000 goal, doubling all donations for the care and restoration of survivors of human trafficking. This milestone was achieved at the Journey of Hope Benefit, an event focused on celebrating resilience and raising awareness on November 8. The community came together strongly, showing what can happen when compassion turns into action.
Changing Destinies Ministry is a non-profit organization that provides a place of refuge for sex-trafficked women through a Christ-centered residential program.
Launched on August 1, the campaign began with a $57,000 matching pledge that sparked an incredible wave of generosity. The campaign was made possible by a generous anonymous donor who pledged to match community contributions. From the moment it was announced, the community responded with overwhelming kindness, meeting the full amount by the end of the night of the event.
Together, supporters helped raise critical funds for Rachel’s Refuge, the ministry’s Christ-centered residential home that opened in March 2025. The home provides safety, care, and a place of healing for survivors rebuilding their lives after human trafficking.
The Journey of Hope Benefit brought guests together for an evening filled with heartfelt stories, local musicians, and inspiration. Keynote speaker Christian Bumgarner-Sullins shared a message of faith and renewal, reminding everyone of the hope that grows when a community unites for a shared cause. Guests connected, celebrated resilience, and experienced firsthand the impact of compassion and collective generosity. Each moment reflected hope, kindness, and the power of coming together to make a difference.
“Seeing our community come together to meet the Matching Gift goal meant everything to us. It showed that when people unite for a shared purpose, real change happens. Every dollar raised will help restore hope and freedom to survivors through safe housing, trauma-informed care, and programs that empower them to rebuild their lives,” said Kim L., Communications Director at Changing Destinies Ministry.
