Man arrested after a shooting during a domestic incident

A 21-year-old man from Pinebluff was captured after police say he assaulted and fired a weapon at a female in Southern Pines on Friday, Oct. 22.

Tyheem Allbrooks was arrested after fleeing the scene when Southern Pines Police Department and Moore County Sheriff’s Department found him at his home on Jeans Loop.

The Southern Pines Police Department said in a news release they were called to an apartment building in the 1600 block of Richards Street just before midnight.

The police department said, “Officers spoke with a female victim and determined there was a domestic disturbance incident that occurred, which led to a physical assault and the suspect firing a weapon at the victim. The female victim was not injured in this assault. However, the projectile did strike the unoccupied office building for the apartment complex.”

Allbrooks was placed at the Moore County Detention Center under a $25,000 secured bond and charged with assault with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm in the city limits.

He is due in court on Thursday and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
