Man arrested after allegedly robbing Dollar General in SP

A 43-year-old man was jailed at the Moore County Detention Center under no bond and is facing charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony larceny, and possession of a firearm by a felon.

“On December 9, 2024, members of the Southern Pines Police Department’s Patrol and Investigation Divisions responded to 1215 Old US 1 Highway, Dollar General, in reference to a Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon,” said Southern Pines Deputy Police Chief Charles Campbell in a news release. “The investigation revealed that Jordache Leach entered the Dollar General with a weapon and demanded money. After the robbery, Jordache Leach left the store with an undisclosed amount of US Currency.”

Leach was located in the 400 block of Shaw Avenue in Southern Pines on Dec. 12 and arrested with the assistance of the United States Marshals Service.

Leach is due in court on Jan. 8.
