Man facing drug and gun charges

Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields announced the arrest of a Rockingham man after a traffic stop that led to the seizure of a large amount of narcotics, a firearm, and cash.

During the early morning hours of April 24, a deputy with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Addor Road near the Hoke County line. After further investigation, deputies located and seized 278.5 grams of marijuana, 176 grams of THC edibles, eight dosage units of MDMA, drug paraphernalia, a loaded 9 mm semi-automatic handgun and $3,221.12. The total street value of narcotics seized is approximately $6,220.

Deputies arrested Christopher Everett, 32. Everett was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, felony possession of marijuana, possession of schedule I controlled substance, possession with the intent to sell and deliver schedule VI controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle for the purpose of keeping controlled substances, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Everett was confined to the Moore County Detention Center and placed under a $45,000 secured bond, is scheduled to make a first appearance in court on May 4, and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
