US military guns lost stolen from North Carolina bases

Beginning on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019, the Manchester Road Access Control Point hours will change. The new hours are from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. The ACP will remain closed on weekends and federal holidays.

“Recently, a two-week traffic survey was conducted at the access control points. The results of the survey emphasized the need to ease traffic congestion while still minimizing the impact to borrowed military manpower,” said Adam Luther, Fort Bragg spokesman.  “With 70,000 to 80,000 vehicles going on and off of the installation daily, maintaining the security and safety are still the priorities.”

The new changes are expected to relieve congestion and ease access to and from Fort Bragg’s Linden Oaks neighborhood and others using Highway 87 through the Town of Spring Lake, North Carolina.

Fort Bragg officials continue to monitor the traffic flow and additional changes are possible.
