McDeeds Creek achieves distinction

McDeeds Creek Elementary School has received the Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase Schools award.

“We are incredibly proud of McDeeds Creek Elementary School for earning the prestigious 2023-2024 Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase Schools® award,” said the school district in a press release. “This achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire school community. It exemplifies our district’s commitment to fostering a positive and nurturing learning environment where every student can thrive. McDeeds Creek’s success is a source of inspiration for our entire Moore County Schools family, and we celebrate this accomplishment with great pride.”

This is McDeeds Creek’s fourth consecutive year winning this award.

“We opened McDeeds Creek with the Capturing Kids’ Hearts process – teaching the difference between the minimum, average, and excellent leaders/mindsets,” said McDeeds Creek Principal Dr. Molly Capps. “We pride ourselves on not just seeing the good in others, but affirming them as often as possible. Staff and children lead with grace and forgiveness while also setting goals as individuals and as a high-performing team. When I see our McDeeds children and staff members interacting with each other every day, I am constantly reminded that the best is yet to come.”

National Showcase Schools undergo a meticulous selection process each year, evaluating essential performance indicators, collecting campus data, and seeking feedback from staff and students. The outcomes reflect the successful integration of the Capturing Kids’ Hearts process, showcasing the unique culture and climate of each campus.

“Capturing Kids’ Hearts® applauds McDeeds Creek, where educators go above and beyond, fostering a secure, connected, and enthusiastic learning environment for students,” said the Capturing Kids’ Heart organization.
