Moore County Schools commemorated the invaluable service of retiring educators and staff members at a retirement banquet on May 6 at the Village Pine Venue in Carthage. The event was a celebration honoring the commitment and contributions of these individuals to the enhancement of our educational community, according to the school district in a news advisory.
Forty-four retirees were honored, representing 784 years of service to our district. When factoring in their combined experiences from prior roles in other school districts, their tenure amounted to 883 years.
“Our school district has flourished under your guidance and expertise,” said Superintendent Dr. Tim Locklair. “Your enduring dedication has left an indelible imprint on our students, colleagues, and community. As you embark on this well-deserved chapter of retirement, please know that your impact will continue to make a difference, and we have great gratitude for your service.”
The retirement banquet provided an opportunity for attendees to reminisce on cherished memories, share inspiring anecdotes, and extend warm wishes to the retirees as they transition into this new phase of life.
“Moore County Schools extends sincere appreciation to each retiree for their unwavering commitment to educational excellence,” said the school district. “Their passion, leadership, and dedication have significantly enriched the lives of countless individuals within our educational community.”
