Moore County Sheriff Godfrey said in a news release on Friday morning at 8:00 that primary roads have improved, and secondary roads have had minor improvements and remain cover with snow. All roads have black ice and are still slippery.
With the algid temperatures, any melting that has occurred has frozen over.
Godfrey said, “Department of Transportation Crews continue to work around the clock plowing roads and putting down salt. Please drive only as fast as road conditions allow regardless of the posted speed limit, and if you don’t have to be on the roads, please stay home.”
