A driver lost control of their car and crashed into a tree on Lobelia Road outside of Vass on Thursday.
Crains Creek Fire Department announced on its social media page that the wreck occurred just before 2 p.m. near McGill Road.
“The vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage while traveling eastbound on Highway 690, apparently running off the roadway to the left before correcting and running off the road to the right, striking a tree and rebounding,” said Crains Creek Fire Department.
The motorist refused transport to the hospital, the department said.
Traffic was backed up due to the crash.
Along with the Crains Creek Fire Department, Moore County EMS and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol were also on the scene.
