A young driver was injured Friday morning when a Ford truck left the roadway and crashed into trees along Spies Road in Robbins.

Authorities on scene told Sandhils Sentinel the young driver was traveling west on Spies Road on his way to school when he lost control of the vehicle near the intersection with Browns Chapel Road.

The truck sustained extensive damage to the driver’s side, and the windshield was completely shattered. The driver was able to be removed from the vehicle through the passenger’s side.

The driver was reportedly taken to the hospital with a possible broken leg.

The Robbins Fire Department, Moore County Sheriff’s Office, Moore County EMS and the N.C. Highway Patrol responded to the incident.
