Three vehicles collided Friday afternoon at the intersection of Voit Gilmore Road and U.S.15-501, marking the third significant crash at the intersection in just three weeks.
Authorities on scene told Sandhills Sentinel that the vehicles were at the light, heading southeast, when the Dodge rear-ended the Highlander, which then hit the CRV. The impact spun the CRV around so that it came to rest behind the Highlander.

The two occupants of the Dodge, an adult and a child, were transported, along with the single occupant of the CRV. The single occupant of the Highlander was not transported.
All three vehicles involved sustained moderate to heavy damage from the force of the impact.
Traffic was backed up on U.S. 15-501 and trickled through while the wreckage was cleared. Traffic coming from Voit Gilmore Road was rerouted away from the scene.
The Southern Pines Fire Department, Southern Pines Police Department, Moore County EMS, and Rockwell Towing responded to the incident.
