A motorcyclist was airlifted following a crash at the intersection of Talc Mine Road and N.C. Highway 24/27 in Robbins on Wednesday afternoon.
Authorities on scene told the Sandhills Sentinel that a box truck reportedly turned off Highway 24/27 onto Talc Mine Rd, cutting off a motorcyclist who was traveling west on 24/27 around 1:30 p.m.
The motorcyclist laid his bike down to avoid colliding with the truck. Authorities are looking for the box truck at the time of this article.
The motorcycle driver was awake and aware enough to tell authorities what happened. He was airlifted from a landing zone established in a nearby field.
Authorities closed the section of Highway 24/27 while EMS treated the patient in the roadway and removed the motorcycle.
Moore County EMS, the Moore County Sheriff’s Department, Robbins Fire Department, N.C. State Highway Patrol, and Carolina Air Care responded to the accident.
