A multi-agency operation has yielded the arrest of a suspect wanted in connection to a murder in West End and a shooting in Southern Pines that occurred last month, according to a news release from Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields.
Arrington Le’Trelle Fairley, 30, of Southern Pines, was arrested Thursday, Sept. 16 on 12 charges to include murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, and heroin and cocaine offenses.
Fields said Fairley was arrested in Fayetteville with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service and Fayetteville Police Department. Fields offered a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to his capture.
On Aug.19, authorities responded to a home on Pine Hill Road in West End. Upon arrival, first responders found Damon Harris, 30, of West End, unresponsive. He died at the scene. Warrants were obtained on Fairley for the murder of Harris.

Fairley was also wanted by the Southern Pines Police Department in connection with a shooting of an 8-year-old boy that occurred on Aug. 14 in the West Michigan Avenue area. The child was shot while riding in a car with his mother. At the time, it was reported the child sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
According to information from North Carolina Public Safety, Fairley was released from prison in February after serving time for manslaughter,
The suspect is being held without bond.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
