The N.C. Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will perform nightly lane closures on a stretch of U.S. 15-501 next week.
From 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily, one lane in both directions of U.S. 15-501 will be closed from U.S. 1 to Brucewood Drive for clearing and grubbing.
These lane closures will take place from Feb. 2 through the evening of Feb. 6, weather permitting.
The construction project will include the addition of a raised median and limiting left turns in most areas. Segments of the highway now have various lane configurations with a two-way center turn lane, which the NCDOT will eliminate through the construction of a reduced conflict intersection.

“This work is part of the Sandhills Area Improvement Projects, various transportation improvement projects to support local economic growth, enhance safety, and improve the quality of life for Sandhills residents,” said NCDOT.
Motorists are reminded to use caution when approaching the work zone and pay attention to the posted signs along the route.
