obituary Buford Lee Davis

Buford Lee (Beau) Davis, 72, passed away on April 10, 2020 at First Health Moore Memorial Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
 
Mr. Davis was born on May 21, 1947 in Raeford, NC. He graduated from Hoke County High School in 1965 where helettered in football and participated in other sports. He graduatedfrom East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C in 1969 with a degree in Business. He played football during his freshman year.  He received his MBA from Old Dominion University in 1975.  After graduation, he was employed by Virginia National Bank. Later he worked in San Francisco for Croker Bank and in Los Angeles for Security Pacific.  He retired from Sun Trust Bank in Virginia. He enjoyed being with his family, friends and traveling.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul B. Davis and Doreen G. Davis of Raeford, North Carolina, and his grandparents E. Jasper and Mary Catherine Davis of Raeford, N.C.; Thomas and Violet Green of England and a niece, Jennifer B. Pait of N. Wilkesboro, NC.  
 
He is survived by his wife Irina of Pinehurst, N.C.; his son ChrisDavis and granddaughter, Avery of Edwards, Colorado. Sister Pauline D. Pait (Frank) of North Wilkesboro, N.C. ; Brother Paul B. Davis, Jr (Agnes) of Southern Pines, NC; Sister Susan D Gill(Thomas R) of Oak Island, N.C. and Brother, William (Will) G. Davis (Donna) of Mebane, N.C.; nephews, Frank J Pait, IV,(Sheila) of Hickory, N,C; Bradley Davis, of St Louis, Mo. ; nieces, Mary Gray Davis of Raleigh, N.C. and Leslie Davis of St. Louis, Mo.; his Aunt Charlotte Davis of Southern Pines, N.C; and his cousins.
 
The family would like to thank, Dr. Cristina Gasparetto, his doctor at Duke Hospital for the great care she provided him overthe years as he battled Multiple Myeloma Bone Marrow Cancer.
 
Our love and appreciation go out to his special friends who gave of their time to drive him to Durham, N.C. for his treatments.Chuck Clark, John K. McNeil, Wayne Crowder, Mary Crowder, Mary Neil King, Joe McMillian, Joanne C. Reid, Bunk Canaday, Jim Carver, Benny Harward and of course our brother, Paul and sister, Susan.
 
There will be a private family burial.  A Memorial Service celebrating his life to be held at a later date in Raeford.
 
Memorials may be made to the Raeford Methodist Church.
