Claude Franklin Patterson, age 84, of Sanford, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Genesis Health Care Center in Siler City, NC, surrounded by his loving family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Vass with Rev. Dennis Patterson officiating. A time of visitation will immediately follow the service.
Claude was born in Lee County on January 27, 1942, to the late Dock Milton and Sarah Dinkins Patterson. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Leon Patterson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Alice McNeill Patterson, daughter, Tammy Sykes (Sam) of Gibsonville, NC; son, Rev. Kenneth Patterson (Sharon) of Sanford; sisters, Gracie Ellis and Sylvia Simpson (Steve); brother, Rev. Dennis Patterson (Sue); grandchildren, Daniel Sykes (Samantha), Kristin Lorenz (Zach), Ryan Patterson (Eve), Chad Patterson; great-grandchildren, Elijah Lorenz, Zayn Lorenz, River Sykes, Ava Patterson and Ana Patterson.
Claude loved his family and his faith. He enjoyed making wood creations for others, with bird houses being his favorite. He enjoyed fishing and working in the garden.
