Edward J. Lancaster, 81, of Southern Pines died on Saturday, April 14th at First Health Hospice House in Pinehurst.
He was the son of the late Matthew Edward Lancaster and Annie Elizabeth Poole Lancaster.
One of 12 siblings, he was born in Southport, NC and raised in Ashley Heights in Hoke County, NC. He was very active in the Rotary Club of Southern Pines as well as a member of First Baptist Church of Southern Pines, and participated in the Noah class. He retired as the Senior Vice President of Harris Wholesale following a successful career.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Currie Lancaster, his daughter Amy Lancaster McDonald, his son Kenneth Lancaster, and three grandchildren: Katey McDonald-Coxen, Magey McDonald, and Duncan McDonald.
He will be honored with funeral services on Tuesday, April 17th, at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Southern Pines, NC, 200 E. New York Ave. with Dr. David Helms officiating. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park at 1105 Morganton Rd. Southern Pines.
The family will receive friends the evening of Monday, April 16th from 5-7 pm at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines, 425 W Pennsylvania Ave.
